Cycling along the Enz - Radweg

Cycling in the Eifel is beautiful and easy to do, thanks to a large network of cycling paths with junctions. This includes the Enz cycle path, also known as Enz-Radweg. It leads from Pronsveld via Neuerburg to Holsthum.

Cycling on a railway track  Bike Trail

Have you ever cycled on a railway track? In the Eifel, it is possible to cycle on several former railway tracks. The tracks are asphalted, so you can cycle over them smoothly. The Enz cycle path also consists of a section that used to be a railway. This is the stretch from Pronsveld to Neuerburg.

Cycling along this former railway line is so enjoyable because of its green surroundings, fast-moving cars do not hinder you and the illuminated tunnels are also exciting to cycle through. It is especially fun for children to ride through the tunnels and hear the echo of their own voice.

Marvel at the Irsental nature reserve with the 'valley of 1,000 butterflies' on this lovely cycle tour. Enjoy the wonderful panoramic views and the picturesque Eifel villages.

From the Enztal-Treff café and the Aqua Fun swimming pool, cycle along the Enz cycle path

Mountain Bike The Enztal-Treff restaurant and Aqua Fun swimming pool are situated on the Enz-Radweg cycle path. You can cycle from here to Pronsfeld or Holsthum, you are approximately in the middle of the Enz cycle path. Are you cycling in the direction of Pronsfeld?

Once you have arrived there, you can continue cycling along the Eifel-Ardenne cycle path or the Prüm cycle path. This way, you can make a three- or four-day tour in the Enz Valley and the Prüm Valley Cycle Path.

If you want to follow the longer route, you can choose to camp at Camping In der Enz in Neuerburg. From here, you can start and end your cycling tour.

Slight incline when cycling

The cycle path is completely asphalted, which makes it also passable for disabled people. There is a slight incline of 1.5% on the section Neuerburg - Pronsveld. This section is 25 kilometres long. The section Neuerburg- Mettendorf-Enzen- Schankweiler, which is 22,5 kilometres long, is mainly in the Enz Valley.

The highlights of the Enz cycle path

While cycling, you pass under two tunnels, over a bridge and through the old centre of Neuerburg. This is a picturesque town centre with the castle at the top.

Well suited for hobby cyclists and families

The section of the Arzfeld-Neuerburg cycle path is well suited to hobby cyclists or those who want to cycle with the whole family. It is also an excellent stretch for the little ones.

The Enz cycle path starts from Pronsveld and leads to Holsthum, of course you can cycle it the other way round. The cycle path is 44.1 kilometres long and is slightly difficult. The ascent is 612 metres and the route takes about three and a half hours.
